  • Garbage Truck Driver Saves Baby in Runaway Stroller

A baby in a runaway stroller was saved by a quick thinking garbage truck driver.

Jeff Blackburn was behind the wheel of his Seattle garbage truck when he saw the infant's mother lose control of the stroller on a steep city street.

"Almost immediately when she turned the corner the stroller started to turn and roll down the hill," Blackburn said.

Blackburn started honking his horn and sped up to catch the stroller.

"Luckily when I was honking the horn a Fedex truck was going through the intersection and stopped because he heard the horn honking," Blackburn said.

He parked his truck in the middle of the road to block traffic and ran toward the runaway baby boy, who was smiling when Blackburn finally caught up with him.

The panicked mother was relieved and walked away with her son, who was unharmed.

Blackburn is being hailed as a hero, but insists he was "just in the right place at the right time."

  • Teacher Imitates 'Bridesmaids,' Slaps Student

Image Credit: Paul Harris/Celebrity Home Photos/Pacific Coast NewsA ninth grade student said she was hurt and humiliated in front of her class after her teacher slapped her, re-enacting a scene from the comedy "Bridesmaids."

Dionne Evans was called to the front of her English class at Malibu High School in California on May 22 after she forgot an assignment at home, said her lawyer Donald Karpel.

"[The teacher] said, 'Have you seen the movie "Bridesmaids?"'  She then smacked Miss Evans four to six times," Karpel told

The teacher had been referring to a scene in the Academy Award-nominated film in which Melissa McCarthy's character tries to smack some sense into Kristen Wiig's character, who is depressed after losing her job and making a spectacle of herself at her best friend's bridal shower.

Evans hasn't returned to her English class and has been taking her final exams in the school library, Karpel said.

"She was humiliated, devastated," he said.

Malibu High School did not return's request for comment.

  • Mom Chokes Bully Over Facebook Comments

Mom Chokes Bully Over Facebook Comments (ABC News)A Florida mom said she regretted choking a boy who bullied her daughter online, but said his "nasty" and "disgusting" comments about the girl on Facebook had gone too far.

"The boy tells my daughter that she is a fat f*****g whale and didn't deserve to live because she is so nasty that he wouldn't even rape her," Debbie Piscitella explained on Facebook.

When Piscitella and her 14-year-old daughter were shopping at a St. Petersburg mall on Monday, the pair spotted the girl's alleged online tormentor, a teenage classmate.

Piscitella confronted the boy and put her hands around his  neck, according to police. The boy's name was not released.

Piscitella was arrested on a child abuse charge on Tuesday and was released on bail.

"I just snapped. I didn't put both hands on his neck it was just one hand, yes I shouldn't have done that, but you all do not even come close to understanding all the torment they have put my child through," Piscitella wrote.

  • Bigfoot Spotted In Idaho?

A group of high school students may have come close to Bigfoot during a class project in the Idaho wilderness.

A dark, mysterious creature was caught on tape for a few seconds near Mink Creek before it retreated into the treeline.

"It just didn't look human-like. I don't know what that is, it's not a bear, it's not a moose or anything. It was big and bulky and black," said the student who captured the video. He spoke to ABC News' Idaho affiliate but did not want want to be identified on camera.

The students climbed to where they saw the potential Sasquatch and photographed the large footprints it left in the dirt.

"I'm not going to say yes it was a Bigfoot or no it wasn't, because I don't know., and nobody knows," the student told the news station.

The Animal Planet show "Finding Bigfoot"  plans to visit Pocatello, Idaho in June to investigate claims that Bigfoot could be in the area.

  • Pizza Por Favor: Spanish Offer Draws Backlash

Pizza, especially when it's free, isn't usually controversial, but a promotion by a Southwestern pizza chain targeting Spanish-speaking customers is drawing tremendous online backlash.

On June 5, from 5 to 8 pm, customers who order in Spanish at Pizza Patrón will receive a free large pepperoni pie, but not everyone will be lining up for the giveaway.

"No thank you for your racist promotion…the native language in the USA is English…I will never order food from you again," Kathy Williams wrote on the chain's Facebook page.

"We English speaking Americans RESENT this offer……….You won't be getting MY MONEY, I will guarantee you that," Jody King wrote.

Andrew Gamm, the brand director for Pizza Patrón, said the promotion is meant to be fun for all customers and won't exclude people who aren't Spanish speakers.

"If  you don't speak Spanish, come on in. We'll give you the

  • Wisconsin Girl, 7, Shot in the Back With an Arrow

Police in Campbellsport, Wisc., are searching for the person who fired an arrow that hit a 7-year-old girl in the back.

Aryanna Campbell was walking with friends Sunday evening when the arrow hit her from behind, said Mick Fink, Fond du Lac County Sheriff.

"It certainly appears to be a stray arrow, but at any minute that could change obviously," he said. "We are hoping the people in the area will come forward."

The arrow had a target tip on it rather than a more destructive hunting tip, Fink said, "which is a good thing otherwise it could have been a fatal impact."

Police canvassed the neighborhood and confiscated a bow and arrows from a man who lives in the apparent path of the arrow. Those items are undergoing analysis at the state crime lab to determine whether they are related to the shooting of Aryanna, Fink said.

The 7-year-old underwent surgery and is recovering in the hospital this week, her grandmother Michele Schneeberg told

    "It was very scary. She

Robot Lifeguard 'Emily' Patrols the Beach

Lifeguards in California are testing a robotic lifeguard named Emily that could speed up rescues and save lives.

Once a lifeguard launches Emily in the water, the robot, which resembles a small motorboat, can speed across the water to a distressed but conscious swimmer to provide comfort until a human responder can arrive.

The critical moments Emily cuts off the time it takes to complete a rescue could save lives, said Capt. Remy Smith of the Los Angeles Fire Department Lifeguard Division.

"It's a very good tool for if someone is still like viable, they're not unconscious, you can use Emily to go out and get someone," Smith told ABC News' Los Angeles affiliate.

The high-tech tool was named for Emily Rose Shane, a 13-year-old girl who was struck by a car in 2010. Shane was close friends with developer Tony Mulligan's daughter, he said.

"We knew Emily as a person that just always wanted to help people. She always put other people in front of herself and that's really

  • Lesbian Couple Charged With Staging Hate Crime

Lesbian Couple Charged With Staging Hate Crime A lesbian couple who claimed they were victims of a hate crime have been arrested after police determined they staged the incidents.

On Oct. 28, Aimee Whitchurch, 37, and Christel Conklin, 29, called police and reported the words "Kill the Gay" were scrawled in red spray paint on the garage door of their Parker, Colo., home.

The next day, the couple told deputies they found a noose hanging on the handle of their front door.

The women told officers they believed the incidents were retaliation from their neighbors and homeowner's association, who had complained the couple did not pick up after their dogs.

Due to the nature of the crimes, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office worked in tandem with the FBI to investigate. After reviewing witness statements, authorities determined Whitchurch and Conklin had staged the incidents.

Both women are charged with criminal mischief and false reporting. Whitchurch faces an additional charge of forgery.

  • Will Smith Smacks Amorous Reporter

A Ukrainian reporter who tried to kiss Will Smith on the mouth was instead met with a backhanded slap to the face.

Russia's Life TV caught overly affectionate reporter Vitalii Sediuk and the actor on camera at the Moscow premiere of Smith's new film, "Men In Black 3."

After a hug and a pat on the back, Sediuk leaned in toward Smith's face and started going for kisses, prompting the star to push him away.

"He tried to kiss me on my mouth," Smith said on camera seconds after the incident. "This joker, he's lucky I didn't sucker punch him."

It turns out kissing interview subjects is part of Sediuk's schtick and he is known as quite the prankster, TMZ reported.

Before the kiss seen around the world, the reporter, who posed as a fan, was known for presenting Madonna with a bouquet of hydrangeas. She graciously accepted the flowers despite the fact she had said in previous interviews she did not like them.

Moments later, the singer was caught on an open microphone

Teen Finds Fingertip In Arby's Sandwich (ABC News)

A Michigan teen found a finger tip in an Arby's roast beef sandwich after he spit out a bite that he said was rubbery and hard to chew.

Ryan Hart, 14, said he ordered the sandwich last Friday at the drive-thru window of at a Jackson, Mich., Arby's franchise.

"I was like, 'That [has] to be a finger.' I was about to puke. … It was just nasty," Ryan told the Jackson Citizen Patriot.

An employee lost approximately one inch of her finger while operating a meat slicer. She left her station and did not immediately alert her co-workers, the Associated Press reported.

Employees continued to fill orders until they were made aware of the fleshy find.

"Upon learning of the incident, the franchisee's restaurant team shut down food production and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the restaurant. The franchisee fully cooperated with the local Health Department, and the restaurant was given the approval to remain open," said John Gray, vice president of communications at
