  • Texas Principal Accused of Planting Camera in Locker Room

A principal is under investigation after she allegedly planted a hidden camera in the locker room of a Texas high school basketball team.

Prosecutors say Wendee Long, a principal at Wayside Middle School in Fort Worth, planted the camera to see how her daughters' new coach talked to the team after they complained to their mother the coach yelled too much.

Long's daughter, 17, got the camera into the locker room and hid it, prosecutors say. The daughter is not facing any charges and authorities say the camera didn't record anything inappropriate.

But Long was arrested Monday and faces charges of improper photography and wiretapping. If convicted, she could face a $25,000 fine or 20 years in prison. Long was released Tuesday on a $25,000 bond, according to ABC News station WFAA-TV.

"The intent is to invade someone's privacy," Denton County Assistant District Attorney Jamie Beck said.

Image Credit: Chris Hondros/Getty ImagesNews Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch took a jab at Tom Cruise on Twitter, calling Scientology a "very weird cult" made up of "creepy" and possibly "evil" people.

Murdoch's tweets came two days after Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise.

"Scientology back in news. Very weird cult, but big, big money involved with Tom Cruise either number two or three in hierarchy," Murdoch posted Sunday on his official Twitter feed.

Murdoch's controversial tweets sparked outrage on Twitter, which prompted him to defend his stance.

"Since Scientology tweet hundreds of attacks. Expect they will increase and get worse and maybe threatening. Still stick to my story."

Murdoch was asked about his views on Mormonism, which is a subplot in the presidential campaign as Mormon Mitt Romney faces President Obama.

"Mormonism a mystery to me, but Mormons certainly not evil,"

  • Giant Galapagos Tortoise Lonesome George Dies

The giant tortoise known as Lonesome George died Sunday, according to officials at the Galapagos National Park in Ecuador.

He was found Sunday morning in his pen by his longtime keeper, Fausto Llerena, the park said in a statement. Lonesome George was the last remaining tortoise of its kind and was estimated to be about 100 years old. Despite what seems like old age for humans, scientists had expected him to live a few more decades.

Lonesome George was found on Pinta Island in 1972, although Pinta tortoises were believed to be extinct. In an attempt to keep the species alive, mates had been provided for Lonesome George. All mating attempts failed, and the tortoise continued to live at a breeding center on the island of Santa Cruz in Ecuador. Lonesome George became a symbol of Ecuador's Galapagos Islands.

"The plight of Lonesome George provided a catalyst for an extraordinary effort by the government of Ecuador to restore not only tortoise populations throughout
