  • Prada's New Shoes Are Hot Rods for Feet

Shoes can propel any look from boring to bold, especially when they have flames shooting off of the back.

Prada's latest shoes are inspired from the American tail fin era of the 1950s, when bright colors and souped up cars were all the rage.

The flames, shooting out the back of the shoes, resemble the tailpipe of a Cadillac.  The bold design of the shoes mimics the chrome metal work of the car.  The shoes, which range in price from $900 to $1,500, are quickly selling out of stores.  For those hoping to snag a pair, they can find them online in most sizes.

SLIDESHOW:  Prada's Hot Rod Shoes Collection

"Women and Cars" is the theme for Miuccia Prada's latest spring/summer 2012 collection featuring the shoes and other vintage-inspired clothing.  The campaign images were shot by Steven Meisel, featuring the models atop vintage cars set at a 50's-style American gas station.

  • Would You Hug a Vending Machine for a Free Coke?

Although their latest social media ploy might look ridiculous, Coca Cola has struck marketing gold.  A vending machine in Singapore is offering free cans of Coke in exchange for a hug.  When you hug the red machine labelled with the words Hug Me, and squeeze the sides, a can of soda pops out.

The machine was installed at the National University of Singapore and photos of people hugging the machine have taken social media by storm.

This regional initiative was created by Ogilvy & Mather as part of Coca Cola's "Open Happiness" campaign.

"Our strategy is to deliver doses of happiness in an unexpected, innovative way to engage not only the people present, but the audience at large," said Leonardo O'Grady, ASEAN IMC director, in a statement.

"Whether you were hugging the machine or experiencing the event online, our goal was the same - to put a smile on your face and share

  • Burger King Releases New Bacon Sundae

Bacon used to be known as the deliciously greasy food that sat alongside eggs or was stuffed into a BLT. But times have changed and the bacon trend has taken over everything from air fresheners to socks to Burger King sundaes.

Burger King's bacon sundae has the Internet abuzz with poster sightings from a restaurant in Nashville, Tenn.  While the contents of the sundae could not be confirmed, it looks like a vanilla ice-cream sundae topped with chocolate and caramel syrups and sprinkled with bacon.

GrubGrade showed posters at the same location for barbecue sandwiches, frozen lemonade and sweet potato fries.

If you're a big fan of pork but too timid to try it in your dessert, other bacon options include bacon coffins, bacon soap or bacon lip balm.

  • 'The Mom 100 Cookbook' Offers Tasty Solutions for Picky Eaters

'The Mom 100 Cookbook' Offers Tasty Solutions for Picky Eaters (ABC News)

Two years ago, Katie Workman pitched a cookbook idea to her editor that included "100 back pocket recipes that every mom could go to again and again."  She wrote a proposal, and the " The Mom 100 Cookbook" was born.

At the time, Workman was editing and developing her own website, Cookstr.com, which contains a vast collection of online cookbook recipes.

While reading many different cookbooks for Cookstr, she saw a missing niche in the cookbook world and wanted to offer a solution.

"I'm an enormous cookbook buff, but when you're in mom mode, when your kid says I signed you up for the bake sale, you forgot you invited friends over for a weekend dinner. …  I had not found a single book that collected everything that I was looking for in one place."

She started collecting the recipes that she made at home daily for her kids, such as  lasagna, tacos and brownies, and then worked them into how she wanted them to be.   She also

Textpresso Machine Takes Text Message Coffee Orders (Image credit: KOMO)

If you think waiting for your coffee to brew is a total waste of time, employees at the Seattle-based company Zipwhip would agree.  After 20 days and several thousand dollars, they created an espresso machine that takes orders via text message.

The start-up tech company's CEO, John Lauer, noticed how often employees visited local Starbucks and wanted to offer a more convenient solution.  "We really do drink a lot of coffee here," he told  KOMO news.

After sending the machine a text machine with a word like "double" or "latte" the machine grabs a cup, grinds the beans and brews the drink.  To avoid confusion between orders from several dozen employees, edible ink customizes each cup.  The machine is comprised of over 300 parts that are stored in an Ikea cabinet.

Despite its popularity, Zipwhip isn't looking to produce more machines in the future.  Instead, the company will focus on their app which allows users to receive text messages from their cell phone
