Authorities: At least 5 dead in Iowa house fire

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — At least five people died Friday in an early morning fire at a house in northeast Iowa, authorities said.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office said it received a call at 3:35 a.m. about a home on fire near the small city of Arlington, about 65 miles west of Dubuque.

Several fire crews responded and found the house fully engulfed in flames. Authorities released photos from the scene that showed the property completely burned and destroyed.

Ron Humphrey with the State Fire Marshal said several agents are on the scene. Additional information has not been released about the cause of the fire. The Iowa Department Of Criminal Investigation has been called in to look into the fire.
