ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say an Atlanta police helicopter with two people on board has crashed in a southwestern district of the city.
Police spokesman Carlos Campos said the helicopter went down about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of two major roads in the city. He had no immediate update and would not say whether there were any deaths or injuries.
Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, told The Associated Press by email that two people were on board but she had no information to release on their condition. She says the FAA will investigate.
It was not clear whether anyone onboard had survived and police said early Sunday they would be releasing information later.
A photographer for AP said power was blacked out near the crash site.
