    New Autobiography Explores Life of Adventure

    Dick Cavenaugh’s “Just About – But Not Quite” proves life can be more than one might expect

    Most people grow up with dreams and aspirations, and find their lives end up much more mundane than they had planned. In his new autobiography “Just About – But Not Quite” (published by AuthorHouse), author Dick Cavenaugh relates a fantastic life more exciting than anything he might have imagined.

    Cavenaugh has written this book basically in his own words and all events and stories depicted actually happened. He has been involved in an almost-unbelievable number of exploits. He has exposed and dealt with so many well-known people in politics, government, movies, royalty and top-level executives in various areas of major business operations.

    He has traveled extensively throughout the world and has encountered many fascinating events and experiences, including service as an airman during the Korean War. As he was reminiscing and writing this book, Cavenaugh couldn't believe that he had done and accomplished so much, including – as shown on the book’s cover – acting as home plate umpire in the first game of the 1984 National League playoffs between the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres.

    Many of the anecdotes in “Just About – But Not Quite” are filled with Cavenaugh’s trademark humor. His tone and his voice manage to make even the most terrifying events – giant snakes on Okinawa or sleeping through a terrible thunderstorm while flying across the country – into funny memories.
