    Avectra Executive to Deliver Speech on “The New Era of Fundraising” at 501 Tech NYC Event

    WHAT:    Sterling Raphael, president of AvectraLabs, the innovation think tank of Avectra, a leading developer of web-based member and donor-based software for associations and not-for-profits, will be the featured guest at the 501 Tech NYC event scheduled for February 8, 2012.

    501 Tech NYC is the NYC chapter of NTEN, the Nonprofit Technology Network. The 501 Tech NYC club offers the opportunity to meet and network with colleagues in the five boroughs. 501 Tech NYC events offer professionals and accidental techies the opportunity to come together to share advice, resources, local news and job openings.

    Attendees to Sterling’s discussion, “The New Era of Fundraising - Expectations Changed by Innovations,” will learn how to engage with fundraising donors by leveraging innovative social media technologies such as Facebook and Google+, the Apple App Store, Groupon and several other online social resources. Donors want to feel valued and connected to their causes. This presentation will help organizations regain relevance and identify innovative ways to re-establish connections with existing donors while also drawing in new donations. Sterling will discuss how Social CRM best practices can be leveraged to utilize external social media monitoring, online communities, member/constituent scoring and more.

    WHO:     Sterling Raphael is the president of AvectraLabs, the research division of Avectra. Raphael is a veteran public speaker for such organizations as ASAE and the Center for Association Leadership.


    WHEN:    The 501 Tech NYC event is taking place February 8, 2012, from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Sterling’s discussion will take place between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
