Awesome Art Picks: Gambit, Poison Ivy, Magneto, and More

Each week we gather up the coolest comic book art that you won't see in comics. The reason you won't is because artists often draw sketches for fun or commissions and post them on their blogs, Instagrams, and Tumblrs. Some even arrange commissions through their sites so be sure to check them out.

Last week was New York Comic Con, which is why we didn't have an installment. There was a lot of great art that came out of the show, including another edition of the Mystery Art Challenge, which will go live early next week.

Peter Nguyen was at NYCC and posted some sketches on his Tumblr.

Paolo Rivera posted some new art on his blog.

Sean Murphy was at NYCC but somehow I missed him. At least he posted a couple commissions on his Deviant Art Page.

Sara Pichelli posted some NYCC commissions on her Tumblr this week.

Chris Samnee posted a couple new sketches on his Tumblr.

Mike Deodato posted more commissions including some colored versions on his Tumblr.. The Cap piece was colored by Arison Aguiar. The first Batgirl pic was colored by David Ocampo and the second by Thomas Mason.

Philip Tan posted a couple new pics on his Facebook page with Magneto colored by Romulo Fajardo Jr.

Marcus To posted some NYCC commissions on his Tumblr.

Kris Anka posted a bunch of new art on his Tumblr from NYCC.

Ryan Stegman was also at NYCC (and I only got to talk to him for like 20 seconds). He posted some five minute sketches on his Tumblr that were colored by Edgar Delgado.

Reilly Brown also was at NYCC and posted some commissions on his Tumblr.

Babs Tarr posted a commission from NYCC on her Tumblr.

Dustin Nguyen posted some Poison Ivy pics and sketches from NYCC on his Tumblr.

Mike Henderson posted a ton of pics on his Instagram. So many, I didn't even grab them all to post here.

Russell Dauterman also posted some NYCC commissions on his Tumblr.

Kevin Wada posted some commissions from Wizard World Austin on his Tumblr.

Mahmud Asrar posted some new sketches on his Tumblr.

Agnes Garbowska posted commissions from NYCC on her Tumblr.

Daniel HDR also was at NYCC and posted some commissions on his Instagram page.

I got a Jean Grey sketch from Marcio Takara at NYCC and he also posted other commissions from the show on his Tumblr.

Tom Raney posted a couple commissions from NYCC on his Twitter page.

I got to meet Clay Mann at the show. Here's a couple commissions he posted on his Tumblr.

Mike McKone posted some new commissions on his Instagram page.

Joel Gomez posted some sketch cover art on his Tumblr.

Yildiray Cinar posted some new sketches on his Instagram page.

Brian Buccellato basically never takes any pics of the commissions he does. I have to snap pics of them myself to share. Here's a Harvey Bullock sketch he did at Long Beach Comic Con and a Shazam from NYCC.

Todd Nauck was cranking out the commissions at NYCC and posted them on his Tumblr.

That's it for this week. You can count on more great art next time, including the videos and images from the Mystery Art Challenge.
