The awesome smart payment card Coin is looking for 10,000 more beta testers
Coin, the popular smart payment card that can store data for multiple credit cards, gift cards and loyalty cards for convenient use, is looking for even more beta testers in order to further improve itself, The Next Web reports.
The smart card already has 1,000 testers in San Francisco, but that’s not enough, as the company plans to enlist 10,000 more users from its backers who have already ordered one, to iron out existing bugs.
The company says that Coin currently works in 85% of locations in San Francisco, which is why it needs more testing. Also, that means backers that agree to take part in CoinBeta should expect usage hiccups. The Left-Behind Alert feature will not be available to beta users either, and Coin beta cards will not be water-resistant either.
Coin buyers who agree to take part in the extended beta by opting-in via the apps should also know that it’ll cost them an additional $30 to get the card earlier than everyone else, but the company will also offer them a 50% discount on all future Coin purchases in the following three years.
As for the mobile apps, Coin will release them on August 28th (iOS) and September 25th (Android).
Backers who don’t want to take part in the extended beta trials will get their Coins at some point in Sprint 2015, much later than initially expected.
