Babies banned from first class, No swearing we're Delta, TSA hassles

What a week it was in the friendly skies.

Judging by all the Facebook "likes" and tweets, a lot of airline passengers are applauding Malayasian Airlines' decision to ban infants from first class cabins on some of their long-haul flights. (Before you start cheering, it's unlikely that any U.S.-based airline would ever follow suit.) Malaysia claims that it took the step because there are no bassinets in first class on the affected jumbo jets, but the carrier's CEO acknowledges that many premium class passengers have complained in the past that sleeping is impossible with crying babies nearby, and that if you pay tens of thousands of dollars for a luxury experience you should at least be able to sleep.

And speaking of unwelcome noise, the Delta passenger evicted because he used the "F word" on a flight at Detroit's Metro Airport says he'll sue the airline. Do you think he's justified? We ride the NYC subways every day and you should hear the language we encounter on that means of conveyance. No one even thinks twice about it.

But if anyone has a right to gripe about ill-treatment, it's this woman. Did TSA really think that a 95-year-old woman in a wheelchair was a security threat? Really? According to Reuters, TSA says that did not "require" the woman to remove her adult diaper, as previously reported in some media.

We weren't wearing a diaper, but we got the full TSA treatment, our first, over the weeknd before boarding a flight from New York JFK to LA. Not only did we get a full body scan, but we were hustled off to a private screening room where a TSA agent had his way with our private parts, front and rear. It's incredible how intrusive this is. Sure, the agent used the back of his hand rather than his fingers, and no, we did not get a full cavity search, but no wonder people are driving longer distances than ever to avoid flying.

This is all BS. Our rights are completely being violated and where is the ACLU now? Every person on a plane that ever had an explosive device was known to the FBI/CIA beforehand. So this mistreatment of citizens who have never even committed any type of crime whatsoever is disgusting and completely against the Constitution of the United States.

My husband flew to Vegas for the first time in 3 yrs. He is 6'3" and 200 lb well built man in his late 40's that usually doesnt care or get embaressed much but he texted me before boarding and told me he did feel violated. He stated that the pat down was intrusive and over the top. That poor old woman gre up in an era where sex wasnt even talked about or enjoyed I feel for her. even if they didnt demand to have the diaper removed they did state she wouldnt be able to board without doing so.

Just saying, however, that if I wanted to hide things like explosives or non-metallic weapons, I might just stick them in my baby's or my Grandpa's diaper -- preferably a wet or dirty one. People certainly have done this with drugs for decades. If I am blowing up the plane and myself with it, why do I care about the kid or the senior? I HATE flying now and do it as little as possible. I can't use the radioactive scanner, and someday I will be frisked again, and it's not pleasant, despite my great care not to set off metal detectors, follow all rules, which differ from US airport to US airport, and wear closely fitted clothing. Where IS the ACLU? So much of the "screening" stuff is just nonsense meant to annoy the public by making us THINK we're being "protected," which is simply not true, and isn't going to catch ANYTHING. Hey, ACLU, I send you people money. Where are you?

Wow, who would want to work for TSA and actually DO that pat-down? Oh... I hate to think about who might WANT that job. Now I really don't want to get 'screened'.

I will drive anywhere in the lower 48 rather than fly if time permits. Avoid TSA hassles and see a lot more of the country, too. Planning on going to Europe this fall, wish I could drive over ther.

Amazing. I went through security at SFO in late May and the metal detector wasn't even turned on. I went through with my shoes on and wasn't scanned, patted down or anything at all.

I'm for more patdowns and intrusive body searches. MEANS more people will opt to not fly or take other conveyances. MEANS more room for me on the plane. LOOOOVE it!
