Bachmann's Town Hall Starring Trump Was News to Trump
She could've at least said something over breakfast. For the past few days Michele Bachmann has been touting a Donald Trump "Tele-Town Hall" at 8 p.m. on Monday, where her supporters can call in and chat with the GOP's former frontrunner. "This is an incredible opportunity for you and everyone from Team Bachmann to hear from a businessman who knows firsthand that Barack Obama's failed policies are crippling our nation's job creators," wrote the Bachmann campaign in anticipation for tonight's event. But apparently this was all news to Donald Trump as of Monday morning. Appearing on Fox & Friends, Trump was asked about the event. "It's called a modern-day town-hall meeting, right? And I said, 'I guess I could.' I didn't even know I was doing it till you just told me … but that's OK," said Trump, as The Hill notes. USA Today reports Bachmann has been meeting with Trump to win his endorsement. But Talk Radio New Service reports that Trump's participation is just that--don't read any more into it. "This tele-town hall conference is a forum for Mr. Trump to speak, along with Michele Bachmann, to concerned Americans," said Michael Cohen, Trump’s Special Counsel. "It does not constitute an endorsement of her candidacy for President."
