Bakersfield police investigating deadly shooting on V Street

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man is dead following a shooting Thursday evening in central Bakersfield, according to police.

Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department were called to the area of V and 8th streets around 6:45 p.m., for a report of shots fired. A man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.

The coroner will release the victim’s identity at a later time. The investigation is ongoing.
