Sam Chang, Clarissa Liang and Marilyn Robertson have joined Brown McCarroll as associates in the Austin office.

Sam Chang joins the firm’s bankruptcy and business restructuring team. He is a 2011 graduate of The University of Texas School of Law and also has a law degree from Handong University in South Korea. During law school, he clerked for the Adjutant General’s Office of Texas Army National Guard and the appellate division of the Travis County Attorney’s Office. He clerked for the Honorable Tom Parker of the Supreme Court of Alabama in 2006 after completing his law degree at Handong University. Prior to law school, Chang was a stock broker and produced and hosted a financial radio show. Chang is licensed to practice in Texas and Alabama.
Clarissa Liang is an experienced corporate and securities attorney, focusing on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, investment funds, capital markets, and private equity. Liang graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2009 where she was Associate Editor of the Houston Law Review. She was also a judicial intern to the Honorable Nancy F. Atlas of the United States District Court in Houston. In 2004, she graduated first in her class at The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, where she was the recipient of the Distinguished Scholar award. Prior to Brown McCarroll, Liang worked at Baker Botts, Akin Gump and as in-house counsel at Dachis Group in Austin. She is fluent in German and is licensed to practice in Texas.
Marilyn Robertson, a 2011 law school graduate joins the firm’s health law team. She has experience in physician employment and consulting agreements, personal services agreements, publishing and technology licensing agreements, and business associate agreements. Her training has also included records and HIPAA compliance, Ombudsman procedures, Internal Review Board and Professional Impairment Committee policies. Ms. Robertson has worked in the legal profession as both a law clerk at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and an intern at the Community Health Advocacy Law Clinic. During that time, she focused on contracts, health advocacy for the medically underserved and such regulatory issues as patient grievances, privacy, cloud computing, and access to medical records. Robertson received her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, where she also obtained a Certificate in Health Law and Policy. Her undergraduate degree is from St. Edward's University. She is licensed to practice in Texas.
