Ouch, Babs! Barbra Streisand is attempting to take the sting out of an off the cuff comment she made regarding FOX's musical comedy, "Glee."

When asked if she would ever consider a cameo on the hit series, Barbra told press at the Grammy's MusiCares tribute event in her honor on Friday, "Not if I can help it."

Now, the legendary singer is rethinking her harsh comment.

"When asked if I would ever appear on 'Glee,' I should have said, 'You never know,'" Barbra wrote in a statement posted on her personal website on Sunday. "It was wrong to say, 'Not if I can help it.'

"What I meant was that I've been overwhelmed preparing for my performance on MusiCares, the Grammys, recording a new album, and starting a new movie," the statement continued. "So I couldn't take on any more work, and besides that, I wasn't asked. I'm so honored that a lead character on 'Glee' is so admiring of my work. In my speech at MusiCares, I thanked them 'for exposing young people to music they might otherwise not hear today: Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Darren Criss...you're all so gifted.'"

In related news, if Barbra isn't interested in joining the kids of McKinley High for an episode or two, Grammy Award-winning diva Jennifer Hudson would be more than happy to step in.

"I would love to [guest star on 'Glee']," Jennifer told Access Hollywood at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday. "Everybody keeps asking me that. Call me, 'Glee!' I would love to [be on the show]."

As for character requests, Jennifer is easy to please.

"As long as I get to sing, I don't care [who I play]," she added.
