    'Barefoot Bandit' says he is remorseful

    SEATTLE (AP) — "Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris-Moore is speaking for the first time in court and is apologizing to his victims.

    Harris-Moore addressed a federal court shortly before he is scheduled to be sentenced Friday.

    Harris-Moore says he is remorseful and "lucky to be alive."

    The 20-year-old became infamous after a two-year international crime spree.

    He pleaded guilty last month to his state crimes and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Federal prosecutors want a 6 1/2 year sentence to be served concurrently with the state time. His attorneys want less than six years.

    Authorities say Harris-Moore's crimes include flying a plane stolen in Washington to the San Juan Islands and taking a plane in Indiana to fly to the Bahamas, where was arrested in 2010.

    He committed several of the crimes without wearing shoes.
