Batman V Superman: First Look At Batman’s Arsenal
It looks as though Ben Affleck has geared up in style for ‘Batman V Superman’… as Batman’s impressive array of gadgets and weaponry is finally revealed.
Appearing on display at the San Diego Comic Con, the rather impressive armoured batsuit makes its public debut. And it’s surrounded by all manner of high-tech toys and weaponry.

This is the first time we’ve managed to get a really close look at Batman’s metal batsuit… and I have to admit, it’s a lot cooler than I thought it would be.
Sporting glowing eyes and an armoured exoskeleton that could rival Iron Man’s Mark I armour, it looks as though Bruce Wayne has been putting plenty of cash into researching and developing the best way to take down your average, everyday superhero.
But what about the rest of Batman’s arsenal?
It seems he’s bringing plenty of new gadgets to the fight against Superman. Included in the impressive display is a number of guns, grenades and well… some of them are tricky to even name. So let’s have a look at what’s in store for the Man of Steel
Batman’s Batarangs
That’s right Bat fans, it looks as though Ben Affleck will get to use the most classic of Batman gadgets – the Batarangs. First appearing in Detective Comic #31, the Batarangs have become a staple amongst Batman’s arsenal, appearing in numerous comic books, films and even video games.
Thankfully, it seem that rumours of the all-new Batarangs are true… and the design is clearly based upon the new Batman logo which is also emblazoned on the chest of the new batsuit. It may have been a fair guess to say we’d see these iconic weapons, but now it’s finally been confirmed.
And let’s be honest – they look pretty awesome, right?
Batman’s Rocket Launcher
Obviously, Ben Affleck’s Batman really needs to pack a punch if he’s going to take on a truly super-powered foe… and that apparently means resorting to explosive weapons. Showcasing Batman’s very own rocket launcher, it’s also featured alongside a number of sticky bombs and hand-held grenades.
It certainly looks as though batman isn’t underestimating his opponent… and coupled with the all-new armoured batsuit, I can’t help thinking that the odds are starting to even out when it comes to the fight between batman and Superman.
Batman’s Tech Cowl
Now, this one is a bit of a mystery. Labelled only as the ‘Tech Cowl’, this odd-looking piece of gadgetry looks like a teched-out version of Batman’s iconic hood. But what on earth would this be used for?
Featuring optical lenses and numerous wires running down the back of the neck, I can’t help thinking that this could be an ultra-intuitive interface for one of Batman’s new vehicles. But will it be used by the Batmobile, the Bat-Jet or a bit of both?
Either way, it’s a rather neat idea… and looks just menacing enough for the Dark Knight.
Batman’s Miscellaneous Weapons
Included alongside the more startling gadgets and weaponry are a number of items merely labelled as ‘Bat Gadgets’. And if you think that’s a rather vague description – you’re right. But that’s about all we’re getting for the time being.
Included amongst the gadgets are some dart-like objects (which I can’t help thinking look a lot like tracking darts) as well as some weird-looking guns. Oh and there’s even something that looks a lot like a very dark and sinister fire extinguisher.
All-in-all, it looks as though Batman’s new gadgets will give him a fighting chance when it comes to taking down Superman. But will he defeat his super-powered adversary? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
