Benfica rallies from 3 goals down in Portuguese league

LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Portuguese league leader Benfica salvaged a 3-3 home draw against Boavista after conceding three times in the first 25 minutes on Saturday.

Konstantinos Mitroglou scored before halftime, Jonas added from a penalty kick, and Fabio Espinho's own goal in the 67th gave Benfica the draw at Estadio da Luz.

The result left Benfica seven points ahead of FC Porto, which on Sunday hosts relegation-wary Moreirense.

Porto, which hasn't gone four years without a league title since 1985, is winless in its last three games in all competitions.

Third-place Sporting Lisbon got two goals from striker Bas Dost but conceded a late equalizer in a 2-2 draw at Chaves, missing an opportunity to get closer to the top.

Benfica is trying to win an unprecedented fourth title in a row.
