Berlin: Global Screen Picks Up ‘The Journey of the Elephant Soliman’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Global Screen has picked up worldwide distribution rights to English-language animated movie “The Journey of the Elephant Soliman,” and has started pre-sales at the European Film Market in Berlin.

The film, which is directed by Sandor Jesse (“Little King Macius,” “Raven the Little Rascal — The Big Race”), is set in 1548, and follows the adventures of a shy spice-merchant’s son, a wise Indian elephant and a spunky Austrian princess who team up to escape the clutches of a possessive prince. They set out on a journey that takes them around the world.

Global Screen has a strong track record with family entertainment movies, such as “Niko & the Way to the Stars,” “Niko 2 – Little Brother, Big Trouble” and “Ooops! Noah Is Gone…,” which have sold around the world.

Julia Weber, head of theatrical sales at Global Screen, said: “This newest addition to our animation slate promises to be just as heart-warming, funny, and entertaining as our previous animation titles.”

The film, which is produced by Studio88 Werbe- und Trickfilm and FFL Film- und Fernseh-Labor Ludwigsburg, is set to be completed in 2018.
