Best Chicken Wing Takeout Spots Around Atlanta

Are You Ready for Some Football?

It's that time again. Super Bowl XLVII is this Sunday, and fans around the country will be firing those tastebuds for the nation's No. 1 football-watching staple: chicken wings. The wings will be flying in Atlanta at virtually every Super Bowl party this Sunday, and it doesn't matter if you like it mild, hot, or with a little Jamaican sauce -- wings are big on game day!

To help you with your Super Bowl watch party preparations, here are a few of the very best places to order wings in the ATL. Have another great suggestion? Chime in via the comments section below.

    Jamal's Buffalo Wings

    10 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta

    678-789-7910

Jamal's is located in northwest Atlanta, and they are known for their flavorful wings. If you are looking for spicy, they have it times 10 and then some. However, everyone who knows me knows that my favorite wings of all time are lemon pepper, and particularly at Jamal's. Be forewarned that this is a cash-only business. This is a takeout-only spot, too, and right now, you can order 100 wings for less than $60.

    Ray's Hot Wings & Seafood

    1002 Duluth Highway, Lawrenceville

    678-242-8640

When I first discovered Ray's, I had to be careful to not become addicted. I love Ray's savory lemon pepper and mild wings, typically with an order of crinkle fries and their homemade Arnold Palmer. All I can say is mm, mm, good! Ray's offers a ton of wing varieties: mild, medium, hot, X-hot, Blood Boiling, Ray's (apricot), Cajun, teriyaki, Caribbean, sweet and spicy, Jamaican jerk, zesty orange, lemon pepper, hot lemon pepper, garlic parmesan, BBQ, garlic pepper, honey mustard, spicy honey mustard, Deep Sea-wings, honey BBQ, breaded, and garlic. Please be sure to place your order by Saturday at the latest so that you can secure your wings for game day. This year, Ray's is also offering veggie trays, chicken tenders, and meatball combos for less than $50. Wing orders range from 10 at $8.49 to 100 at $64.99.

    Miss Crumpy's Hot Wings

1450 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. SW, Atlanta

    404-965-0255

What a name, huh? Along with that name comes some pretty fierce hot wings. You can find every flavor from mild to honey golden to "suicidal," and these wings are sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Wings come whole at Miss Crumpy's.

    JoJo's Wings & Grill

    8540 Roswell Road, Atlanta

    770-649-8272

I came upon this quaint little place while working in Sandy Springs. I was so impressed that I even shared a few lunches with my coworkers, as well as potential candidates. JoJo's offers some of the best hot wings I have tried in Georgia, and, of course, they do a pretty great job with my favorite, lemon pepper. In preparation for Super Bowl Sunday, JoJo's is offering 100 wings for $53.99. Make sure you tell them whether you want ranch or blue cheese dressing when ordering.

Remember to order by Saturday at the latest (or even earlier, if possible), no matter where you're getting your wings this Sunday.

A self-proclaimed foodie, Karen Francis has been writing restaurant reviews since 2006 and has had her share of wings in the Atlanta market since 2001.
