    Catalyst is an annual conference noted for its appeal to next-generation Christian leaders. This week, over 13,000 attendees are expected to attend and engage with this year’s theme: “Be Present.”

    Released in September, God’s Story, Your Story was inspired by a biblical literacy movement that started with the 2005 publication of The Story (TheStory.com), a chronological retelling of the Bible. God’s Story, Your Story takes readers on an intimate and engaging journey through the New Testament, exploring God’s quest to save his people, interweaving New Testament scenes and contemporary examples of God’s masterful story-making skills.

    Lucado’s book stresses that we need to know our story line in order to be present, relevant, and clear about the drama God is directing. Without a script in hand, the story of your life can be chaos and confusion. Lucado offers, “when you enter the stage equipped with a script everything changes.” If you know the final act, when you know the rest of your story, you can show up in every scene with real presence. Only when you know your story can you truly be present in it, and your story indwells God’s.

    Max Lucado serves as Minister of Preaching at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, and is the bestselling author of Outlive Your Life, Fearless, 3:16, and numerous other titles. He and his wife, Denalyn, have three grown daughters.
