Will Beyonce Star in Bradley Cooper's Directorial Debut of 'A Star Is Born'?

Sorry Jennifer Lawrence. Bradley Cooper has another leading lady in mind for his directorial debut.

The three-time Oscar nominee is in negotiations to direct the remake of A Star Is Born and, according to Deadline, is looking to cast Beyonce -- who's acted in Dreamgirls (2006) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) -- in the lead role. The trade website clarifies that the Queen B hasn't "been re-approached formally" after she had to drop out of the project -- then to be directed by Clint Eastwood -- when she became pregnant with her daughter Blue Ivy.

A Star Is Born follows a film star, Norman Maine, who helps a young singer and actress, Vicki Lester / Esther Blodgett, find fame, even as age and alcoholism send his own career on a downward spiral.

Judy Garlan and James Mason starred in the 1954 film, but the story was first told in the 1937 version, starring Fredrick March and Janet Gaynor. Then in 1976, another remake was released, with Barbra Streisand as the leading lady opposite Kris Kristofferson.
