    Bibendum to Launch 23 New Wineries at 2012 Annual Trade Tasting Next Week

    Bibendum is launching 23 new wineries from 8 different countries at its Just Add... Bibendum Annual Trade Tasting on January 25th.

    Highlights include the Royal Tokaji Company; three top Burgundy domaines: Jean Rijckaert, Jean Chauvenet and Alain Chavy; outstanding Etna winery Tenuta di Fessina; premium Australian producers Battle of Bosworth and Best’s Winery; and the critically-acclaimed Prophet’s Rock from Central Otago in New Zealand.

    Bibendum is launching 23 new wineries from 8 different countries at its Just Add... Bibendum Annual Trade Tasting on January 25th.

    Highlights include the Royal Tokaji Company; three top Burgundy domaines: Jean Rijckaert, Jean Chauvenet and Alain Chavy; outstanding Etna winery Tenuta di Fessina; premium Australian producers Battle of Bosworth and Best’s Winery; and the critically-acclaimed Prophet’s Rock from Central Otago in New Zealand.

    Managing Director, Michael Saunders, said: “We are always looking to improve and refresh our portfolio with excellent new producers, and I am very excited by the new arrivals. Our focus for 2012 is undoubtedly on premium wines, and these new agencies demonstrate our clear belief that, despite the economic climate, we can sell more and better wine to all channels of the UK trade.”

    The Just Add...Bibendum tasting features six rooms of wines on three floors of The Brewery in London EC1. As well as featuring wines and winemakers from across the globe, the tasting focuses on all the added value services Bibendum offers to its trade customers including staff training, market and consumer insights, and wine list design. The company will also be pouring a range of its boutique spirits and fine wines from top names from Bordeaux, Burgundy and beyond.

    The tasting features rooms dedicated to Bibendum’s award-winning green team, Vivid, and the Bibendum Taste Test, the company’s innovative approach to communicating about wine that has been trialled by both Waitrose and All Bar One.

    Away from the tasting tables, Hugh Johnson will be giving a talk about his career writing about wine and Niki Segnit, author of the best-selling book The Flavour Thesaurus, will be speaking about taste, flavour and the pursuit of exciting new combinations.

    Bibendum Marketing Director, Fiona Cochran, said: “The Just Add... Bibendum tasting is all about how we can work more closely with our customers to help them sell high quality wine and increase profitability. 2012 offers significant trading opportunities to both the on and off trade sectors, and we are working very hard to ensure our customers have all the tools they need to enjoy a very successful year.”
