    Bids Compare Announces New “Standard Price Portal” for Better Results

    New feature enables service providers to add standard pricing, giving homeowners more choice

    Bids Compare (http://www.bidscompare.com) today announced the launch of a new feature which allows service providers to enter standard pricing into Bids Compare’s easy to use comparison tool.

    “Bids Compare is a service built from the ground up to give homeowners a place to quickly, easily and accurately compare bids,” said co-founder and CEO Josh Richmond. “By now allowing service providers the opportunity to list standard prices, we’re giving homeowners even more choice when comparing bids on home improvement and home repair projects”.

    “We typically ask homeowners to have a professional come and give one bid first to make sure they know exactly what’s involved” said Mr. Richmond. “For example, most have no idea how to measure the square footage of a countertop or understand what a 13 SEER, 3.5 ton compressor is, but for some services this isn’t necessary. Electricians, plumbers and other providers have standard pricing they charge for common services, we felt it was critical to get these prices in front of homeowners”

    Founded in 2009, Bids Compare has developed a vast online database of thousands of different home repair and improvement options and sorts them into hundreds of different categories. Popular competitors like Redbeacon.com, thumbtack.com or angieslist.com help consumers schedule and rate service providers online, but only Bids Compare makes exact, “apples to apples” quote comparisons, locally, in your neighborhood. There is never a charge to use the service and no identifying information is required, "homeowners simply search and save" says Mr. Richmond. “It’s now easier than ever to know the right price for home repair and improvement projects, and giving Service Providers a price portal only adds to the sites value.”
