Big rig crashes off I-10 near Dillon Road in Coachella

A truck went off Interstate 10 east of Dillon Road on Wednesday morning in Coachella.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Robert McLoud said a big rig went off the interstate and into a field just south of the interstate and Vista Del Sur. McCloud said a log of the incident said the preliminary investigation suggested the crash may have resulted from a medical issue involving the driver.

A log of the incident on the CHP website listed the website as a fatality but McCloud said he could not confirm the driver had died. He said no other people appeared to have been involved in the accident.

There were no road closures as a result of the crash. The crash occurred just before 8 a.m. and officers remained on scene an hour later.
