Who would have thought that 290 preschoolers from all over the world attending the Owings Mills Jewish Community Center would be considered citizens of Ravens Nation? Well they are!
Just ask any one of its preschoolers from Baltimore what their favorite colors are, and their reply would be the Ravens' team colors: purple and black. The preschool is covered head-to-toe in Ravens-themed spirit; whether it be the team artwork hanging from the ceilings to the lyrics from their favorite songs their music teacher has rewritten to fit the theme of Ravens Nation.
After a purple snack of blueberry smoothies and challah with grape jelly, children in Ravens colors ages 2 through 5 assemble in the main lobby every Friday for a rally to support their home team. It is evident that the preschoolers are not the biggest fans in size, but far make up in spirit, energy, and charm.
On Friday, Feb. 1, they came together for their last rally of the season where they sang, danced, moved, and grooved with the rhythm of optimism and confidence believing that their purple pride will bring their home team a Super Bowl victory.
