Bill Murray Hijacks White House Press Briefing to Root for Chicago Cubs (Video)
Bill Murray for President? Oh, hell yes.
But a run for the Oval Office is not what brought the legendary comedian to the White House on Friday. Murray is in Washington D.C. to accept the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday, but decided to make a surprise visit to the White House and the daily press briefing.
After the briefing wrapped up, Murray jumped onstage in full Chicago Cubs regalia and began discussing the team’s World Series chances, currently up 3-2 over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series.

“I feel very confident that [Los Angeles Dodger] Clayton Kershaw is a great, great pitcher,” Murray said. “But we got too many sticks. And at home, our crowd, the weather? You get a little bit of autumn in Chicago. You don’t get that in Los Angeles. Trees just die in Los Angeles.”
This is not the first time Murray has popped up in a strange location unexpectedly. He has previously made a surprise appearance at bachelor party and again during a couple’s engagement photo shoot, both in South Carolina. Earlier this year, he also tended bar at his son’s new watering hole in Brooklyn.
