Bill Simmons’ HBO Talk Show Hires ‘Daily Show,’ ‘Tonight Show’ Alums

Bill Simmons’ HBO Talk Show ‘Any Given Wednesday’ Canceled

Bill Simmons will be joined by “Daily Show” alum Stuart Miller and Bill Simmons Media Group President Eric Weinberger as executive producers of his new weekly talk show on HBO, the premium cable network announced Thursday.

“I learned from my Grantland experience how important a good inner circle is and now, we’re building a terrific one for HBO,” said Simmons in a statement. “These are three creative, innovative, curious people and that’s exactly the spirit of the TV show we want to create. My only regret is that none of them root for Boston teams.”

Jason Ross, also from “The Daily Show,” has been named head writer for the new show. Kim Gamble joins as co-executive producer.

The untitled Simmons talk show will debut later in 2016. Simmons first signed a multi-year deal with HBO in the summer of 2015.
