One of the hottest bands in the world will rock a private party at businesswoman and philanthropist Rhonda Wyllie's Mosman Park home next Friday night.

Singer/composer Mike DelGuidice and the Billy Joel Band will be jetting in direct from the Piano Man's sell-out residency shows at the famed Madison Square Garden in NYC to Perth next week for a spectacular social event on Saturday night at Perth's Hyatt Regency Hotel to mark the launch of the philanthropic arm of Bethesda Hospital in Claremont.

Upping the ante in the charity sphere, on the eve of the Bethesda Foundation Charity Ball about 80 VIP ticket holders will be treated to an exclusive meet-and- greet cocktail party with the band at the Wyllie home.

"Bethesda Hospital is such a special place and I'm delighted to be hosting one of the best bands in the world and have them playing live in my own living room for such a very worthy cause," Ms Wyllie who is the chairwoman of the charity's Patrons Group, told AAA Weekend.

"It's going to be a very special night."

Proceeds from the event will go to improve research equipment and staff education for palliative care, which is one of Bethesda's special areas.
