BlackBerry CEO: Unlike the iPhone 6 Plus, you can’t bend the Passport

Has Apple quietly fixed its iPhone 6 Plus ‘Bendgate’ problem? [updated]

Shots have just been fired. During his big media presentation on Wednesday, BlackBerry CEO John Chen made reference to videos that showed how easy it can be to bend the iPhone 6 Plus and pledged that you will not be able to bend the new BlackBerry Passport no matter how hard you try.

Chen’s swipe at Apple came just hours after Unbox Therapy uploaded a video that showed how much force it takes to bend the iPhone 6 Plus in your bare hands. Unbox Therapy found that while the Galaxy Note 3 similarly bent when you applied force to it, it also bent back to its regular shape more easily than the iPhone 6 Plus did.

The BlackBerry Passport is BlackBerry’s latest attempt to make a comeback device, although it’s going up against some stiff headwinds in the form of both the new iPhone 6 models and the Galaxy Note 4, all of which have been either announced or released in September.
