Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm will launch in June

Believe it or not, Blizzard has been working on more than just Hearthstone over the past several months. On Monday, the developer revealed that Heroes of the Storm, its take on the MOBA genre, will officially launch on June 2nd after entering into its technical alpha phase just over a year ago.

Heroes of the Storm will launch with more than 30 playable heroes, over 130 skins, 14 mounts, and 7 dynamic Battlegrounds with unique challenges unlike anything you’ve ever seen in other MOBAs. Blizzard is also planning to begin open beta testing for the game on May 19th, allowing anyone with a Battle.net account to participate.

Whether you manage to score an invite before that date or decide to wait for the open beta, Blizzard has assured its fans that there will be no further progress wipes. Whatever characters you unlock or battles you win will be permanently recorded on your profile for the game’s launch in June.
