Based on Nielsen's C3 Ratings data (Commercial Ratings + 3 Day Playback), ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (4.949 million) during the 2012 May Sweep. "GMA" won a sweeps period for the first time ever based on the C3 ratings, beating NBC's "Today" (4.790 million) by +159,000. Additionally, cutting its Adults 25-54 margins for the 6th consecutive sweeps period, "GMA" trailed "Today" by its smallest news demo gap ever during a sweep (-56,000 - 1.886 million vs. 1.942 million) .

For the week of May 21, 2012, based on the most recent C3 data (Commercial + 3 Day Playback) , "GMA" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (4.835 million) , outdelivering NBC's "Today" (4.563 million) by 272,000. In fact, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 5th consecutive week and in 6 of the previous 7. In addition, "GMA" placed a strong No. 2 in Adults 25-54 (1.809 million), pacing behind "Today" (1.862 million) by only -53,000.

"GMA" is Posting its Smallest Total Viewer and Adults 25-54 Margins with "Today" in 16 Years, Season to Date

"Good Morning America" drew 4.474 million Total Viewers and a 1.4 rating/11 share/1.717 million Adults 25-54 for the week of June 4, 2012, according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" has won 4 of the last 9 weeks. Additionally, Goodmorningamerica.com has expanded its lead and in the month of April, had 17 million more unique users than Today.com.

"GMA" slashed its year-to-year margins with "Today" by more than half in both Total Viewers (-68% - 332,000 vs. 1.046 million) and Adults 25-54 (-58% - 298,000 vs. 705,000) . "GMA" has cut its year-to-year demo gap with the NBC morning newscast by double-digits for 23 straight weeks, and in 37 of 38 weeks this season.

"GMA" narrowed its week-to-week gap with "Today" in Adults 25-54 by -4% (298,000 vs. 311,000).

Season to date, "GMA" has cut its gaps versus "Today" in half in both Total Viewers (-52%) and Adults 25-54 (-48%) versus its year-ago season gaps. In fact "GMA" is posting its smallest Total Viewer (392,000) and Adults 25-54 (387,000) margins with "Today" in 16 years - since the 1995-96 Season.

Season to date "GMA" is the only morning program to grow in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 25-54 (+7%) versus its year-ago averages (NBC's "Today:" -4%/-9%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning:" -8%/-10%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 6 years, since 2005-06.

For the 4th week running, "GMA" towered over the "CBS This Morning" by triple-digits in both Total Viewers (+101% - 4.474 million vs. 2.228 million) and Adults 25-54 (+103% - 1.717 million vs. 847,000).
