"GMA" is #1 for the Week: Outperforming NBC's "Today" -#1 for 11 Consecutive Weeks in Total Viewers and 9 Consecutive Weeks in Adults 25-54

"GMA" Continues to Grow Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date Among Adults 25-54 and Total Viewers While "Today" Declines by Double-Digits

ABC News' "Good Morning America" stood as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers (4.930 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.939 million) for the week of October 22, 2012, winning all 5 weeks of the season to date, according to Nielsen Media Research. In fact, "GMA" has been the No. 1 morning newscast for the last 11 weeks in Total Viewers and the last 9 weeks in Adults 25-54.

"GMA" beat NBC's "Today" (4.402 million and 1.794 million, respectively) by +528,000 Total Viewers and by +145,000 Adults 25-54. The ABC morning newscast increased its Total Viewer advantage over "Today" week to week by +35% (+390,000 on w/o 10/15/12).

For the 5th time this season and in the past 12 weeks overall, "GMA" built on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (4.843 million on w/o 10/24/11) . Year to year, the "Today" dropped by double digits (-18%).

For the 5th time in 5 weeks of the season, "GMA" outperformed "Today" in all 5 head-to-head telecasts in both Total Viewers (Mon: +93,000, Tues: +463,000, Wed: +685,000, Thurs: +487,000 and Fri: +906,000 ) and Adults 25-54 (Mon: +22,000, Tues: +171,000, Wed: +249,000, Thurs: +96,000 and Fri: +183,000) and airing the week's Top 5 most-watched telecasts. "GMA" has beaten the NBC morning newscast in every head-to-head telecast this season to date (25) in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54.

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margins in overall viewers (+590,000) and in the key adult news demo (+188,000) in more than 21 years - since at least the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is the only morning program to grow in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) versus its year-ago averages (NBC's "Today" is down -17%/-26%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is mixed +3%/-1%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience and best Adults 25-54 performance in 5 years - since the 2007-08 season.

"GMA" nearly doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+89%) and Adults 25-54 (+94%).
