Justin Timberlake Goes to Ball With Marine Who Posted YouTube Invite

Singer/actor Justin Timberlake made good on his promise, attending a Marine Corps ball in Washington, D.C., this weekend with a Marine who posted her invitation to him on YouTube.

He escorted Cpl. Kelsey De Santis, who posted her YouTube invitation after another Marine, Sgt. Scott Moore, invited actress Mila Kunis to a separate ball via a YouTube video.

On his website, Timberlake wrote that he was proud to attend the event to show his support of the armed forces.

“I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn’t forget… Something I could tell my friends about. What I didn’t know was how moved I would be by the whole experience.”

He also seemed taken impressed with De Santis, writing that the 23-year-old was “humble and honest … very cool,” and that she seemed concerned about whether he was enjoying himself.

“I have to tell you, it’s not every day that I meet a 23-year-old girl and she’s more worried about if I’m having fun or if I’m comfortable! It hit me all of a sudden that these were the type of people that look after us and our freedom… Humble, concerned for others before themselves… This was the type of person our Marine Corps was building. I was really blown away,” he wrote.

Kunis, who starred with Timberlake in “Friends With Benefits,” accepted Moore’s invitation. She’ll go with him to the ball on Nov. 18 in Greenville, N.C.

Not everyone has been as successful with their YouTube approaches.

Sgt. Ray Lewis invited actress/comedian Betty White to be his date at another  ball, but she declined. Although the “Hot in Cleveland” actress was flattered by the invitation, she said she couldn’t attend because she would be taping an episode of her show.

Too bad our leaders don't understand this young Marine's love of honor, duty, and country over self. We'd be a very different country right now if they did.

What I found interesting is how Justin credited the armed forces in general for Kelsey's demeanor, when honestly she deserved the credit herself.

After so many stars have imploded it's wonderful to see a famous actor know how to behave well. Timerlake showed class and dignity.

Howkasam, right on the money ! Those who post unflattering even idiotic messages - have no respect for the incredible "individuals" who pay such a heavy price for our freedom. I support the troops not the Pentagon or the war mongering politicians that put our sons, daughters, moms, dads, aunts and uncles in harms way - because of overblown egos, lusts for power and greed! Anyone who says wars are not declared for profit are liars and cowards.

Hey Justin... outside of make believe of hollywood and NYC etc people do care that the person with them at an event do wish for all to have a good comfortable time instead of fake everything. Glad you got to meet and greet real american hero's verses those make believe ones you are more accustom to

Step out of Hollywood (or D.C.) and meet some real people!
It is a shame that he was so surprised.
My neighbors, my family, my friends, all my life, are all like De Santis .... I do not envy the life and people he must have.

A Hollywoodie who actually likes the military? How does he get screen roles -- with his ballistic missile? Good fir him, though. Keep your word and if what he's saying is true, let's hope he keeps that opinion and doesn't get brainwashed by the socialist elites out there.
