After Rick Santorum's Sweep, How Worried Should Mitt Romney Be?

I put that question to ABC News' political contributor Matt Dowd this morning. He summed up Mitt Romney's standing in the Republican race after Rick Santorum's three state win like this:

"After Florida [Romney] thought he had gotten engaged and a wedding date was set and the voters gave him his ring back and said 'We're going to flirt with this guy from Pittsburgh for a while,'" Dowd said on "GMA." "I mean it's an amazing turn of events for Mitt Romney. He thought he had this done."

Watch our analysis of the race here:

. . VERY. . . Romney is slowly becoming more and more distrusted. . His religion has a lot of people concerned, , His wealth and arrogance towards the lower classes has a lot more people concerned, , His flip flop on the very things he once strongely supported has even more people concerned. . . The longer he opens his mouth, the more he appears to be just another rich Repulsican willing to say anything to get the white house and then go back to business as usual (making the rich richer) . .

All true, but do you think Santorum is any different? I still remember Santorum as the 100% Bush supporter that cheered loudly when they found two undetonated, inert gas caninisters in the desert that had been laying there since at least 1987 (Since the Iraqi/Iran war) and screamed "See! We told you there were stockpiles of WMD's!!". The guy is a fruitloop.

Did you ever go to the circus and see the clowns drive their little car with everyone on board around the rink, stop, all jump off, then jump back on in a different order? If you were deprived of this act as a child, I have good news for you.

He's been a "non candidate" to the media. I'm writing him in, that's the only reason
        I'll show up.

The only thing romney has convinced me of, is that he can get upset and attack anyone on a whim. He has given me no reason to think he will be a good leader. He continually says how bad the other guy is, and what we need. He hasn't once said what he will do, just what the other guy has or hasn't done. He is just a politician. He is only good a lying.

Face it. You've allowed your party to be taken over, the way the Democrats were taken over during the 70s and 80s.

But now that the Democrats have swung back toward the right, you should feel right at home.

These wins say that my fellow Republicans do not believe in Romney, who is a non-consertative blowing in the wind yes man, and Newt, who has been shown he has not changed from his failed stint as a Speaker.

Before the conservatives get too enamored with Santorum, they better ask themselves why my former homestate of Pennsylvania's voters dumped this dweeb after two terms as their senator. In the November 7, 2006 election, Santorum lost by over 700,000 votes, receiving 41% of the vote to Casey's 59%, the largest margin of defeat for an incumbent senator in quite sometime and the largest losing margin for an incumbent Republican senator ever. I am surprised that no one has brought this up yet.

I like living in the 21st century, so I would not vote for Santorum. I cannot imagine any modern woman who would, except for the strict Catholics who believe that no birth control and no abortion stuff. . I don't think he has a chance of a snowball in hell. Too much baggage for such a young guy in his previous political office in PA.. However, I do think the people are sending the Republican party a message: We don't like Romney and we don't want him shoved down our throat.

How worried should Romney be? Very much. He can take out his mask and say I am a New England moderate, pro choice, pro gay, anti gun, pro entitlements, pro obamacare. Let his GOP base decide.

Santorum is NOT the president for ALL.......BEWARE..........he is 50 years behind the times......back with the Beave.......

How worried should Mitt Romney be?

He should be very worried - that he can't beat Obama.
    • g  •  3 mths ago
Mitt Romney is a joke. .. We've got this 65 yr old Vietnam Draft Dodger, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He now comes before us with carefully dyed hair, asking for our vote!
    • pope postorous  •  3 mths ago
Who cares if Romney is worried? The fact that so many people would vote for this wacko scares the CRAP outta me!
