Y! Atlanta | Morning report (Aug. 11)

Mike Benzie, Yahoo! Atlanta Editor

Hi, Atlanta. It's Thursday and good morning. The PGA Championship has kicked off, so let's just get right to the links. Get it? The links? We'll be here all day. (Or at least through 6 p.m.)

>> AJC's Mark Bradley dissects the Tiger-caddie feud. Bradley's blog | If you go

In other, non-golf news:

>> The weird case of the three Florida fugitives known as the Dougherty Gang, wanted for robbing a Valdosta bank, were captured in Colorado yesterday. But not without resistance and a chase. Story | Photos

>> In Atlanta, Waffle House somehow makes headlines almost daily for a variety of reasons (see felon escapes, Kid Rock brawl, officer tasering a waiter), so maybe this isn't news, but ... another Waffle House was robbed. There have been nearly a dozen of these at the 24-hour establishments in recent weeks. AJC | Channel 2 Video.

>> Braves 2B Dan Uggla continued his unlikely hitting streak to 31 games, the longest in the majors this year. Remember, this guy was hitting like .170, by far the worst average among everyday players in the majors. Y! Sports.

>> OK ... and here's one you don't hear everyday. A second suspect was arrested in a string of armed robberies stealing textbooks. Yes, college textbooks. And one of the robberies occurred at a Dorks Textbooks in Lawrenceville. Channel 2.

>> The weather outlook for today, courtesy of Channel 2's Karen Minton: Partly sunny; 30 percent chance of isolated showers. Winds NW 15-15 mph. Highs in the mid-90s. Channel 2 Weather.
