Amanda Bynes's Parents Don't Know Where She Is

The saga of Amanda Bynes just keeps getting sadder.

The troubled actress, who was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Sunday, is not in contact with her parents, Rick and Lynn. Amanda was living with the pair last year in Thousand Oaks, California, following some bizarre behavior that culminated in an involuntary hospitalization through December. Lynn was Amanda's court-ordered conservator until the legal agreement ended in June. But Rick tells X17Online he hasn't seen his daughter — who has since moved to Orange County — since then.

"We know nothing about [her arrest]," Rick told the website. "We were called by the press."

"I'm getting calls all day long. That's all I know."

Amanda Bynes, 28, faces plenty of legal fallout from her most recent arrest. She was charged with a misdemeanor when California Highway Patrol officers determined she was "under the influence of an unknown drug" after they pulled her over for stopping the Mercedes Benz she was driving in the middle of an intersection for a traffic light. The Easy A star was not able to complete field sobriety tests.

The arrest came at a bad time for Bynes, legally speaking. She has served less than a year of the three-year probation she was given in February following a DUI arrest in 2012.

Reportedly, Bynes is facing another, albeit much more minor setback. RadarOnline noted that in the last few weeks, Bynes has failed the courses she attended at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

"Amanda just stopped going to classes," a source told the website. "Everything had been going very well for her up until the conservatorship ended. Her instructors tried to reach out to Amanda, given her history of very public breakdowns, but got no response. As a result, Amanda flunked out."

Bynes's issues have often been linked to mental illness or failure to take her medication.

However, Bynes's attorney told Yahoo in April that the rumors were untrue.

"Amanda does not have schizophrenia, nor has she ever been diagnosed with it," lawyer Tamar Arminak said. "[Amanda] currently is on zero medication. She's devoted to living her life as healthy as possible. She's never had a history of abusing alcohol or hard drugs, and she's proud to say she's been marijuana-free for the past nine months."

Lynn Bynes blamed her daughter's strange behavior on marijuana.

Officials have yet to determine what Amanda was taking during her latest arrest. The Los Angeles Times quoted a source familiar with the case saying that prescription drugs "likely" played a role.

The former Nickelodeon star is due in court on her DUI charge on Oct. 23.
