Record high temperatures are possible Tuesday

Consider these record high temperatures for May 31st:

-Cleveland: 92
-Youngstown: 92
-Akron/Canton: 94
-Mansfield: 95

Cleveland could easily tie the record high temperature set on this date in 1944. The record high in Youngstown dates back to 1934. I don't think we'll hit the record in Akron or Mansfield, but it will be close!

High pressure sitting over the Mid-Atlantic will keep sunshine and uncomfortable humidity in the forecast today. Temperatures will soar to the 90s by 2 p.m. Remember your hot weather tips - Keep water and sunblock handy when outdoors!

A cold front approaching from the west will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms after 10 p.m. The storms are not expected to be severe in northeast Ohio. Overnight lows will fall to the upper 60s.

Behind the front, temperatures will be near 80 degrees Wednesday. High pressure will funnel a northerly wind in our direction Thursday, dropping highs to the mid 70s.

Our next chance of rain comes Friday, with mostly dry weather expected this weekend.
