Julian Assange revealed last month that he was writing a book in order to help deal with costly legal bills. Some more details came out on Friday: Canongate, Assange's U.K.-based publisher, announced that the book will be published this April (with rights already sold to publishers in numerous countries).

"I hope this book will become one of the unifying documents of our generation," Assange said in a statement. "In this highly personal work, I explain our global struggle to force a new relationship between the people and their governments."

Even with a quick turnaround, Assange won't get ahead of ex-WikiLeaks partner Daniel Domscheit-Berg. The former WikiLeaks spokesman will release his tell-all in February.

Also, The Guardian newspaper -- which has had a complicated relationship with Assange -- is apparently putting out a WikiLeaks book in February, according to an Amazon listing making the rounds today.
