Fox News hires Liz Cheney; NBC fires back at Page Six over report about Chelsea Clinton

Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is joining Fox News as a contributor, a network spokeswoman confirmed to Yahoo News. The news was first reported by Politico's Playbook.

Cheney's hire continues the flurry of politicians' daughters landing television jobs. Late last year, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton was hired by NBC News to contribute to "Rock Center With Brian Williams," joining "Today" show contributor Jenna Bush Hager and MSNBC's Meghan McCain at the Peacock network.

Cheney, a former State Department staffer, will contribute across all FNC platforms during the Republican primaries, and "serve as a substitute host from time to time."

According to a report by Page Six, Clinton's days at NBC may be numbered, though a network spokesperson called the assertion "100 percent false."

Last month, critics largely panned Clinton's "Rock Center" debut.
