Chinese woman rescued after being trapped between two walls for hours

A Chinese woman who tried to take a shortcut home on Saturday didn't save herself any time after she became tightly wedged between two walls overnight until firefighters chipped away the wall that was trapping her.

Metro UK reported the woman passed through a gap between walls on her way to her home in Anhui Province, eastern China, at about 10 p.m. She was stuck there until the next morning when someone saw her and called firefighters, who spent 20 minutes pulling her free.

Video shows the firefighters pulling the weak-looking woman down from where she was trapped after knocking down part of one wall.

A Chinese baby trapped below a residential bathroom made international headlines in May after a dramatic rescue that forced firefighters to cut away a sewage pipe, revealing a crying, though alive, newborn boy.

Internet users expressed outrage that the baby was apparently abandoned, and The Associated Press reported many offered to adopt the child.

In February, a toddler in China's Shandong Province became trapped in a washing machine, according to the Telegraph. The 3-year-old girl was playing in around the machine when she somehow managed to become stuck inside. Firefighters had to cut the washing machine open.

"The girl was unharmed but is unlikely to play in washing machines anymore," the Telegraph reported.
