While you may be in the prime of your life as you read this, aren’t you the least bit curious what you’re going to look like as a senior?

Using your phone or tablet’s camera, a new app aims to give you a look at your face aged 60 or more years – and it’s freakishly good at it.

Aptly named Oldify 2 – Face Your Old Age, the iOS download is free until this Friday, July 25, 2014, before it goes back up to its regular price of $1.99.

Keep in mind, the original Oldify -- with fewer features -- is also available for both iOS ($0.99 cents) and Android (free), but Apptly LLC’s recently updated Oldify 2 has a few extra tricks worth playing around with.

As you can see in this “before” and “after” shot, above, of my lovely Yahoo editor, Krista DeWeese, simply take a selfie of yourself (or have a friend do it) and Oldify 2 will make you old in a few seconds. Yep, your young and tight skin will be replaced with wrinkles and age spots, along with a droopier face, lines around your eyes and mouth, and graying hair.

For best results, you’ll need to line up your face with the onscreen guide and perhaps adjust where your eyes and mouth are with the simple touch-based interface. Alternatively, you can import a photo you already have on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and line up the head, eyes and mouth on the existing photo.

The entire process just takes a few seconds and you’ll see yourself as a great grandparent. Or why not try it on a friend, family member, coworker or even a pet? Double-tap the screen to revert back to present day.

But the app doesn’t stop there – you might notice your face is animated as your “old you” looks around. Touch the screen and you’ll see yourself cough, sigh, blink, yawn, smile and more. You can even record your voice and have your future self say things in your voice (don’t forget to use words like “whippersnapper” if you can!). You can turn off animation if you prefer a still photo instead.

When you like what you see, you can share your video or photo via email, text message or social network like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and others. You can also print it wirelessly (compatible printer required), use AirDrop to send to others, save it to your Camera Roll or assign it to a Contact in your address book.

Oldify 2 lets you choose how far in the future you want to peer: 20 years, 40 years and 60 years – and if you want to pay $0.99 cents you can unlock 80 and 99 years in the future (of course you’re going to live past a hundred, thanks to medical advancements). Another in-app purchase lets you see yourself with an accurate-looking beard ($0.99 cents) or with a Santa Claus hat and snow animation ($0.99 cents). Other features you can purchase include a sweating effect, which looks like you’re perspiring, and a vampire add-on that gives yourself reddish eyes, fangs and dripping blood.

A “Mix” tab in Oldify 2 lets you swap in and out of effects for added fun. In case you weren’t aware, app developer Apptly LLC has also created other face-changing apps including Fatify, Baldify, Wolfify and Beardify.

Finally, a “Featured” section is one of the newest features added to the app, so you can see other people’s aged face, sent to Apptly LLC by users on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Some show a before and after shot (see below for mine), while others are of the final result (spread across all their apps).

If you’re interested in trying out Oldify 2, save yourself $2 and download the 37MB app from Apple’s App Store before this Friday, July 25. Along with English, it’s available in a number of languages, including: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese.

Take note you’ll need a compatible device running iOS 6.0 or later: iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s,iPad and iPod touch.
