is it really worth 1 american military life for people who do not give a shit about themselves. it is time to leave Afghanistan and Iraq ''both Bush's wars''
      • Paco 8 mths ago
Daniel-- I gave you a thumbs up because they do not give a shit about themselves.
They attacked us!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have to kick their ass big-time.
      • ReberC 8 mths ago
They attacked us because we stuck our nose where it didn't belong. How come we can go over there and it's okay but when they come over here it's considered terrorism.

America will lose the war in Afghanistan just like the soviets Failures followed by the collapse of the Union
    • Bill 1942  •  8 mths ago
One American life lost is too many. Bring our children and grand-children home. To hell with protecting the opium trade for the drug companies..

america may be broke, but the US will always squander taxpayer $$$$ for its useless crusades..

War in Afghanistan is a job machine for Generals and prosthesis manufacturers. We have more generals today than WWII.
    • ozymandias  •  8 mths ago
Taliban are white guys and smart. Obama is not. As soon as Obama told them he was surrendering and pulling out they poured it on to use up their ammunition.
      • monique 8 mths ago
And how does that make them smart? I swear people are so slow nowadays.... of course any terrorist would pour it on after the fire power has decreased...one to try and persuade us to stay longer and two because they know weve down sized. NO matter what they do, we are still pulling out.....and that makes OBAMA, the black guy the smarter person....because unlike the taliban, he knows that this war is hurting our economy,,,,DUUUUHHHH

Have we learned nothing at all from our past? If we leave before the job is finished, we are just asking for another 9/11. Why are all our lawmakers and president so damned stupid. You can't ignore terrorists-they just get stronger.
      • Jon 8 mths ago
How do you propose to 'finish' it?

If you kill a terrorist his sons then join up with the other terrorists...and the problem compounds itself. You cannot kill them all, they are like cockroaches...when you turn on the lights the scatter, when you leave they return.

There is no 'finishing' this unconventional war.

We would have been better off focusing only on Bin Laden and other masterminds, rather than invading a region which has NEVER been conquered.

It is known as the Graveyard of Empires for a reason.
      • William 8 mths ago
Didn't happen with Viet Nam or Desert Storm.
      • monique 8 mths ago
You are calling them stupid? lol that is funny....First of all you can not defeat terrorists if you must know.....terrorisst will always exist. Secondly, you asked have we learned nothing from our past?! Apparently not since you think it is still a good idea to keep our troops in Afghanistan. Have you not see our economy the past 5 to 6 years, or are you one of those uneducated people that blame it solely on Obama? The wars and the money we spent on them...to add the jobs sent over to support it...is what has ruined our economy.....and 9/11 happened for 2 reasons... 1 because the US failed to deal with Osama back in 97 when he declared he was out to get us....2, the US is the sole reason why that happened...our security was weak then....airport and everything else, because we are too arrogant to believe that anyone would attack us in our own country....boy were we wrong!

one upon a time when a former President ( he , who should not be named ) was in office the nightly news reports would say the total accumulated killed to-date .....along with the individual names of those killed ........and then we had an election for a fuller open -- more transparent government ....................
    • Integrityman  •  8 mths ago
These wars will never be won because of the way they go about fighting these wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Did they forget war is all about Fear and Death then the final goal frontier is supposed to be peace...Was that the intentions of the US Government? Remember World War 2?
    • Rube  •  8 mths ago
Candidate Obama said we would be out of Afghanistan in August 2011 Another failed promise or outright lie, depending on your point of view.

Depends on which side you are on.

We should honor the fallen and the still fighting. They have fought bravely and given the chance they will continue to fight and die for their country, it is how they have been trained. But it is moronic to continue to send them to die.

You cannot have a conventional war in Afghanistan, let alone win a war in Afghanistan. They have been fighting for centuries and have toppled many empires by bogging them down and using guerrilla tactics. They are like roaches, turn on the lights and they scatter...you may be able to take a couple out with your shoe, but as soon as you turn off the light and leave, they'll be right back.

The best you can do in a place like afghanistan is to put a hurt on those who hurt us. Put a hurt on the Taliban, Al Queda, and kill Bin Laden and other masterminds...and then leave knowing we paid them back. Instead we got bogged down in a long war which we can only come out of looking like we held our own.

Why did we not learn from Russia and the myriad other empires that have fallen because of a war in Afghanistan?

You Simply Cannot Win Fake Wars
I think 10 years is enough time to learn that .... Don't you Agree?
