After fugitive Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) surrenders to the FBI, it's not business as usual. He claims he can help the authorities catch criminals and terrorists. After making it happen in the series premiere, Reddington promises it's just the tip of the felonious iceberg. He has the connections to help the FBI bring in many more evildoers and save lives.
In this exclusive clip from the upcoming episode, Reddington — who falls somewhere on the spectrum between Dr. House and Hannibal — agrees to help surface another bad guy — but only if he gets to go to the party where the baddie is sure to be.
"If you're going to have any hope of identifying him, you need to put me in that room," he tells FBI Agent Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) and Special Agent Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone).
The agents agree, and Red leads them and Agent Margot Malik (Parminder Nagra) to a parking garage, where his unsavory associates from times past are waiting. He clearly has an intimate (err, really intimate) relationship with this motley crew.
Everyone seems friendly for now, but something tells us that won't last long. "This is going to be a gas," Red says.
Does he mean that literally? Will he deliver on his promise? But most importantly, who's really in charge here?
"The Blacklist" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
