Wrestler born with no hands or feet places 6th in state tournament
A high school sophomore put on an amazing performance at the Wisconsin state wrestling championship. He eventually finished in sixth place in the 106-pound weight class, but Zach Anglin won over everyone in the crowd.
Anglin was born without the lower parts of his arms or legs.
“It’s been an amazing journey, and I feel really blessed to have coaches that expect a lot from me, who put in a lot of time and they keep bringing the passion," told the Ashland Daily Press. "We have such great team support and team spirit. It’s really a blessing.”
“I am really proud of what he has accomplished,” Anglin's Bayfield-Washburn (Wisc.) High School coach said. “It’s fantastic to have a wrestler go to state. Zack has been wrestling to his potential throughout the tournament. He belongs in Madison.”
“Wrestling is my favorite sport to compete in,” Anglin added. “It teaches me outside of the gym, it teaches me a good lifestyle, a good work ethic at home and in school. Wrestling has brought a lot of joy into my life. As my dad continues to remind me, a happy warrior is a great warrior.”
