Black, Asian teens less likely to abuse drugs and alcohol

Native American adolescents are the most likely to abuse drugs or alcohol while black and Asian teens have the lowest abuse rates, a new study from Duke University finds. About 9 percent of white teens and 15 percent of Native American teens used drugs or alcohol in a way that suggested they had a disorder, the researchers told McClatchy. The results are gleaned from surveys of more than 72,000 teens of multiple ethnicities.
