Captain America’s suicide prevention message

In his latest adventure, Marvel comics hero Captain America tackles a silent enemy: suicide and mental illness.

Psychologist and lifelong Captain America fan Tim Ursiny wrote the 11-page story, which contains no dialogue until the final strip to emphasize that depression is often a lonely struggle, he told USA Today.

Included in the comic is the actual number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, pictured.

Teen suicide made national headlines in the fall, when several youths harassed for being gay or perceived as gay took their own lives.
