2 terms for the president. Why not the same for Congress?

Actually, many American workers have had to cut their pay....just to keep a job.

Here's an idea. Don't vote for those who don't do what you hired them to do!

I don't want anybody's money. I want an equal playing field.
If the laws pertain to me I want them to pertain to every one else.

There is an all-pervading sense among the AMERICAN PEOPLE that they've been taken for a ride during the last decades! It used to be that a single wage could buy a house, support a family of 4 or 5, and afford two cars! What Happened to all That?

Now the Protestors should surge to Washington and expel the Lobbyists!

all elected officials should hold office for 6 years and that is it. no re-elections, no career politicians.

One thing we can all agree on regardless of our political views is that the #$%$ is about to hit the fan hard.

Meanwhile, GE CEO Jeffery "the Job Czar" Immelt sits next to the President in the White House, paying no taxes on 5 billion dollars of 2010 profit, taking 165 million in tax payer funded stimulus and ships jobs to China and India while shutting down domestic plants and slashing the wages of those remaining by 35 percent. Time to "Occupy Pennsylvania Ave".

You mean Americans are fed up with corporate corruption, lobbyist-owned politicians, jobs sent overseas, etc? Really? I thought they were happy with all that.

Again: We are taught from childhood about the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Yet all the polls reported that the American People were more than 2 to 1 against NAFTA. And what happened? Just like Ross Perot said......whoosh went the jobs.
The elitists in Washington had their way with us again.

Corporate influence in the political system is the issue I have with Wall street and all other lobbying factors that has influenced the way congress operates..

I don't want someone else's money. I want my own money, that I get to make with my own actions. And, I wager that most Americans agree with that. Honestly. Who wants to be seen as an incompetent mooch? We need jobs. We need to build things. That is what will make America big again. Not handouts. Hands up, are what we need. We don't need to increase the taxes on anyone. No redistribution of anything, except for jobs. We need jobs to put people to work in. Then, and only then, will we see things getting better. Bring the work back home, or there will be nobody left to buy the things you make cheaper elsewhere.

I don't support the rich. I support the RIGHT to be rich.

I remember as a Electronics Technician making $16 an hour working 50 - 60 hours a week. Every quarter the profit sharing bonuses was nice to have. A few 1000$ once in a while was nice to have to pay off debts or purchase that new computer. Now all you see is jobs going over seas and the American worker is left out wanting to work. Rick Perry claims he created jobs. Working at Mc Donalds to me is not a job you want if your rent is $600+ a month! You need to make atleast $18 per hour to have a decent living.

What I don't understand is if corporate influence in the political system is the issue then why aren't they picketing Washington and state capital buildings? Why aren't they picketing radio and TV news organizations who make it so that any politician who wants to run for office must collect HUGE sums of donor money (and owing back political favors) to pay for radio and TV spots? Why aren't they out there picketing the offices of lobbyists?

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the
best quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more
than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election/

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!
The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,
cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will
have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed
around.

_*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*_

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive
the message. Don't you think it's time?

Our modern day media is the problem not the solution.

some of us might agree with what is wrong in our country. but MOST of us still believe the system our FOUNDERS gave us, would be used to remove those who have abused our trust. we do not break our system because others have abused it. we USE it to remove those who have.

Why don't they go protest these state colleges that persuade kids that a hundred and twenty five thousand dollars in debt is worth it for a chance at a job paying twelve dollars an hour or why does it cost so much?
