Prominent televangelist Marcus Lamb admits he had an affair

The always expanding powerful-preacher-disgraced-by-sexual-scandal club just welcomed another flesh sinner: Rev. Marcus Lamb, the Pentecostal founder of the DayStar Television Network. DayStar is a high-profile operation, based in Dallas, that broadcasts sermons from several evangelical heavyweights -- including Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar and Joyce Meyers.

With his wife, Joni, by his side, Lamb took to the air to tell his followers that he'd cheated on her several years ago and that extortionists were trying to get $7.5 million to refrain from making the details of the affair public.

"They're trying to take our pain and turn it to their gain," Lamb said during a one-hour live broadcast. "We're not going to take God's money to keep from being humiliated."

Joni Lamb said that she spoke to God when she learned of Marcus's "improper relationship," but that he told her that "he's worth fighting for," so she stuck with him.
