Report: FBI training materials say ordinary Muslims are violent

FBI training materials (Obtained by Wired)As recently as last March, the FBI taught its agents that mainstream Muslims are likely to be violent and radical, according to training materials obtained by Wired's Spencer Ackerman.

The training materials portray "the Islamic practice of giving charity as no more than a 'funding mechanism for combat,'" and feature a chart that shows that "devout" Muslims are violent.

Ackerman writes that FBI whistleblowers passed along the materials to him because they thought the focus on religion instead of other signs of terrorism--such as stockpiling weapons--was the wrong approach. The whistleblowers also worried that the FBI was spreading the same message preached by Al Qaeda--that devout followers of Islam must be violent.

"Teaching counterterrorism operatives about obscure aspects of Islam without context, without objectivity, and without covering other non-religious drivers of dangerous behavior is no way to stop actual terrorists," Robert McFadden, formerly of the Navy Criminal Investigative Service, told Ackerman.

FBI spokesman Christopher Allen told Yahoo! News that these training materials are no longer in use.

"This particular training segment was conducted six months ago, one time only, at Quantico and was quickly discontinued. The instructor who conducted that training block no longer provides training on behalf of the FBI," Anderson said. "Policy changes have been underway to better ensure that all training is consistent with FBI standards. These changes will help develop appropriate training content for new agent training and continuing education for all employees, as well as introduce a robust consultative element from experts outside the FBI."

In July, Ackerman obtained FBI training materials that said the practice of Islam "transforms" a country into a 7th-century way of life. The materials taught that the "Arabic mind" is "swayed more by words than ideas and more by ideas than facts."

Just last month, the Associated Press uncovered that CIA agents helped the New York Police Department spy on Muslims communities by sending informants into area mosques before there had been any evidence of criminal activity. The CIA is now investigating the collaboration to see if it violated the constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of religion.

Read the whole story on the training materials here.

Update: A comment from FBI spokesman Christopher Allen has been added to this story.

oh wait, what's that? the story's been updated now? oh, I see. yes, a comment from an FBI spokesman who assures us that the ... wait for it... the C.I.A. is fast at work, laboring to determine whether they violated anyone's rights, lol.

      Doesn't even need a punchline.

Now, as far as the actual instructor who was at Quantico some 6 months ago, but hasn't been back since, and you say these are his training materials, that wouldn't happen to be the training instructor you had come as a visiting instructor from Terry Jones's Church in Florida, now would it?

It seems that the timeline of that story and this mesh up.

Job well done, FBI, belatedly. The FBI is not on the defensive and should not be. It is the Muslim terrorism and their supporters in the West, such as our liberals in the US, who are on the defensive. The American public is holding the US Liberals accountable for their unacceptable support of Muslim terrorism. That's why Obama will be defeated in the next election - providing there are no idiot conservative Republicans on the ticket. Hillary Clinton would be the best bet, and a much better Democratic candidate than Obama. Clinton candidacy should be now moving forward.

You hide your identity so that you can speak evil of other people. Please don't brand the terrorists as Muslim. It is as good as me saying that all the Christians found in prisons throughout the world are Christian tugs/barbarians and that Christianity support tugs and barbarians. It is people like you that can spark civil war in American because of your narrow and racist brain.

Don’t listen to them. The government and the Media will tell you what to think. That is the only way to be a good American. You are a commodity remember your place.

I must pay more taxes and love my government. Must never question them...

Does the Koran say to kill all infidels (non-believers in Islam)?
      • Ray C 8 mths ago
As a former Air Force enlistee who participated in Civil Affairs, the answer is no. There are as many muslims who believe what you say as there are racist American bigots who believe God told them to eradicate all non-whites. Anyone can misquote their religious book for selfish reasons.
Here's what the Koran says "... whoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew entire mankind; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept entire mankind alive; ... (Quran 5:32)

Hey dipshit. I was just asking a question. You reacted like a jackass.

If they follow the Quaran, they are violent. Quit with the PC crap. Some of the quotes from the training material are spot on, GOOD JOB!

If the FBI even acknowledges the dangers these monsters pose in these PC times then it would be wise to DEPORT ALL ARABS in the interest of NATIONal Security.
      • murad 8 mths ago
No wonder they are called FBI ( Foolish Bustard Idiots). The real monsters are the stupid American majority that are controlled by about 5 million American Jews to rob the Palestinian of their land to be given to the Jews after the II World War and this monsters turn a blind eye to the genocide of the Palestinian committed by Israel. You all preached to the world about democracy, fairness and justice but dip down inside your soul is just filled with hatred and injustice. No wonder USA is what it stands for i.e. United #$%$ of Animals. If you do not like what I am saying, please therefore mind your language.

If you really would like to know how the Muslims assimilate in a host country, take a good hard look at Europe. Look at countries such as England, France, Germany, Holland etc. The Muslims do everything they can to change the customs of the host country to their suit themselves and their third world mindset. And it isn't done peacefully either. They riot and they brawl in the name of peace. Before you thumbs down this, please just do some research instead of staying in denial. This is all fact.
      • MidwestGuy 8 mths ago
        You are correct Stephen.

@ real guy. I'd rather have mexicans living nexy door than muslims. Speaking from experience.
      • Rodney 8 mths ago
You f..ing so called christians crack me up. You came from europe dragging the sorry idea of christanity with you. Every nation according to YOU, should be a "so" called christian nation, if not you want to bomb them out of existence, and YOU have the audacity to claim Muslims change their host countries and are terrorists. .I have had many hispanic friends & neighbors mostly good people, neighbors now include muslim, mostly good people, but then I suppose I believe the world is what we make of it. Give me lemons for the lemonade.
      • Emmons 8 mths ago
People like you refuse to read Rodney. You stay in denial and continue to spout just how loving your Muslim neighbors are. Why don't you research and look up some real statistics instead of using your lopsided, biased opinion that hasn't any merit. You have your head buried. Oh, and as OHA above said, I would rather have Mexicans living next to me any day than Muslims. I have many good Mexican friends, but Muslims are and entirely different matter.

Would you let a lion roam the streets freely? Then why would you allow these rabid bloodthirsty animals roam our streets freely. They are a ticking time bumb.

Well one has to understand the system over there in the middle east. Where they are at right now is where the Christian religion use to be in the medieval times. Back then the Catholic Church wanted to keep the peasants ignorant so they can better control them. I mean heaven forbid if they learn to read and then start reading the Bible! Then we would no longer be able to control them! Well the system they have in the middle east right now is the countries are run by a rich family, a rich dictator, or a oppressive regime. Then in turn the nation leaders pay the clerics to preach to the common people of that nation what the koran says. However most of them don't know for themselves what the koran says only what they are told it says. They are not more violent than your average citizen of this world they are just ignorant about their own religion because thats how their leaders want to keep them. They don't even understand jihad.

The koran specifically says, "In jihad you will destroy no building, you will destroy no tree, you will destroy no wall, you will kill no child, you will kill no woman, you will kill no civilian.""You will only kill the enemy invading soldiers." Ok now does this sound to you like your typical suicide bomber or the 9/11 attacks?

This is why they are probably teaching, "Ordinary muslims are violent." its because most ordinary muslims only hear what the clerics tell them and are too ignorant to research what the koran says for themselves.

The mind set of your radical muslim is basically the same thing as the mind set of your average uneducated hillbilly. The more uneducated they are the more likely they are to be fanatical and the more easier they are for somebody to influence. But thats why people like Al Quata want to keep them ignorant. Have you ever seen a Al Quata leader go on a suicide bombing mission?

THE "Liberal mind" is "swayed more by words than ideas and more by ideas than facts."

Breakdown : Swayed more by words ( Teleprompter )
: By words than ideas ( Stimulus )
: By ideas than facts ( Failure )

Summary : Teleprompter ( Tell them what they want too here )
: Stimulus ( Funding of base ,not the Economy )
      : FAILURE ( NOVEMBER 2012 RE-ELECTION )

Killing is a big big sin in Islam. It is written in the Quran. Allah does not create us to kill or torture each other. Those who fear God do not do such things,.

      The Noble Qur'an - An-Nisa 4:29

...And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you.

I'm trying to be positve and stop wars but people are bound and determined to have war. For some strange reason. I thought I was negative but what could possibly be more negative than war. Do you have short memories? Don't you know what war is? You Americans obviously just loved WW1 and WW2...all I ever hear is how glorious and wonderfull the great generation is..even though millions died and more millions suffered and then after WW2 you went directly to Korea...then Viet Nam....then into war with Iraq for no reason...and then you faked 911 and yet more wars...war war war...you love it.
    • SecularAmerica  •  8 mths ago
Can you imagine "Christians" calling someone else violent? hahaha what a joke all religious people are and all of the religions out there...just pure idiocy.

"Without religion, we'd have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." - Stephen Weinberg
    • Raymond  •  8 mths ago
One of the comments made states that religion has been the source of more deaths than anything else. No true. Mao in China, an atheist, killed more than 100 million of his own people, and countless others, for a philosophy. Hitler and Stalin, and others, killed for philosophy. They far outnumber the number of deaths caused by religion. Even the Inquisition only killed thousands. Get your facts straight.

Muslims have a long history of violent animal like behavior. They have been fighting and killing themselves and others for centuries. You can't breed that inbread behavior out of Muslims in a few short centuries. They will still be animals 1,000 years from now. But on the other hand - they are very good camel trainers.

k 5:033 "the punishment for those who wage war against Allah AND HIS APOSTLE and strive to make mischief in the land, is only this, THAT THEY SHOULD BE MURDERED OR CRUCIFIED OR THEIR HAND AND THEIR FEET SHOULD BE CUT OFF ON OPPOSITE SIDES OR BE IMPRISONED" ISLAM PREACHES VIOLENCE! ANYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE IS A LIAR!

How many churches, synagogues or Hindu shrines are there in Saudi Arabia? None. Why is that? Because Islam is a backwards, ignorant, misogynistic, cult of hatred and Saudi Arabia is its home turf. And these a**holes are dictating their religious ways to the rest of the Islamic world - which follows them in lock step. FBI/CIA are absolutely correct to keep a close eye on the Moslem community in the US. Anyone who doesn't think so is extremely naive.
    • DP  •  8 mths ago
You may call me a racist if you want, but i would be so happy if all Muslims were deported back to their country. If their religion is so great and our way of life so bad. why come and live here?
