Here is a brief peek at what ‘NBA Live 14′ looks like (Video)

Sure, the gameplay footage looks sharp and clean, but I think we can all agree that the most true-to-life element of this trailer for EA Sports' "NBA Live 14" is that star Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving seems to have absolutely no problem breaking down the New York Knicks' halfcourt defense, getting directly to the rim and finding himself in the enviable position of being one-on-one with Amar'e Stoudemire at the basket. I mean, it doesn't get much more realistic than that.

"NBA Live 14," EA's return to the roundball video game scene after three years of false starts and scuttled projects, features Irving as its cover athlete and is due out for the PS4 and Xbox One next-gen gaming platforms on Nov. 19. No word yet as to whether you'll be able to pilot trailer soundtrack artist Action Bronson through a rise to the O'Brien, a la the LeBron James "Path to Greatness" mode recently unveiled by competitor "NBA 2K14," but let's keep our fingers crossed. There just aren't nearly enough opportunities to ball out as a 280-pound cartwheel-turning culinary enthusiast, as far as I'm concerned.

As EA has tried to drum up interest in "NBA Live 14," the primary response I've seen from game-playing readers has been a reticence to return to the fold until EA showed something more compelling. So let's hear it: If you're one of those skeptical sorts, does this look at gameplay footage — in combination with revelations like the inclusion of Synergy Sports Technology's game-tracking data in developing individual player rankings — make you more interested in checking out what EA's put together?
